I am a West Indian from Houston, Tx and am working out in the desert in AZ for 2 months. I looked up this place online and I am regretting I visited this place. I arrived well dressed with a pocket full of money and very hungry around 5pm and was the first customer. It was my first visit and no one told me where to sit or dine, until this RUDE skinny little have-island black man with short twisted dred-locks approached me. I told him it was my first visit and asked him where to sit and he told me"IF I DO NOT HAVE RESERVATIONS, I WOULD HAVE TO SIT AT THE BAR AND EAT!" How friggin rude. So I sat at the bar and noticed all of the workers were white or/ Hispanic and can tell the mostly catered to white or/ Yuppie folks trying to get an Island feel. However, I was born in the Caribbean and hate when Other wanna-be island folks like this skinny black idiot at the Breadfruit rum and bar treat their own in disgrace. However the bartender Brian made an excellent drink from my country's Angustora 7 year rum and I wanted another one but was too hungry so I left. I then went to Caribbean Cuisine on the Glendale side of town and though it was in a rougher area, they welcomed me with open arms like true Caribbean people do!

Overpriced and too spicy. Sometimes I think they make the food so spicy to cover up the mediocre cooking. I expect more out of a restaurant of this caliber.

Amazing food???? Lick your plate amazing? Truly? This is a definite "date night" restaurant. Located in the heart of downtown Phoenix, by the ASU campus, this quaint Caribbean inspired restaurant has a Rum Bar and a fresh daily new rum cocktail to enjoy. Everything is delicious! I've been here about 8 times and have never been disappointed. Reservations strongly recommended.

Such great bold flavors. Ordered different plates with my guest so we could try their offerings. I dined in the late evening during the week. They were very attentive and the experience was great.
