The Capital Grille, Minneapolis, Minnesota, Seafood Restaurant Details

"Exemplary" steak and "all the trimmings" (plus a "great wine list") come with "impeccable" service at this "trusted" Downtown chain link with a "luxurious feel"; sure, you "pay for the quality", but it's "tops" for a "group on business" or a "tête-à-tête with someone special."

Go here for every occasion. Best steaks I have had. If you go and don't get the Lobster Mac you are doing yourself a disservice!

My wife and I have dined at the Capital Grille quite a number of times and have invited special guests to join us there several times. We have never had any disappointment either with food or with service and believe it delivers a more consistently excellent experience than the other fine dining steak restaurants in the Twin Cities (we have tried them all).

Recently, we invited two couples who are very special friends and who had not ever been to the Capital Grille. One of the couples was visiting from Europe on their first trip to the US. Our service was as warm and hospitable as if we had been in a friend's private home for dinner. The food was wonderful, as always. We just couldn't have asked for anything more in the way of attentiveness, helpful suggestions, and just the right level of time spent at our table. Our server, Chris, is extraordinary, and several times we have been fortunate to have him make our dinner experience excellent.

What they mean when they say "standard of excellence." It doesn't get any better or more consistent than The Capital Grille. I get out whenever I can and it is always perfect. The creamed corn is worth the trip by itself. The calamari is the best I have ever had. The ribeye is only matched by my other favorite in town. As far as a dry aged goes, hands down the champ.

I love a good steak and I've been fortunate to dine at most of the top tier restaurants. I'm sure my steakhouse connesuirs will agree that service make all of the difference. While dinning at The Capital Grille, I must say I got the feeling that the server thought I wasn't worth his time. A feeling of "sir are you sure you're in the right place" rang through. Checked my ID under but no one else's although he said it's standard policy. I've had pleasureable experiences at other Captial Grille's but this one falls short. I encourage you to consider other options.

Food:

The porchinni crusted rib eye was perfectly cooked and very flavorful. When they set the steak in front of me the smell was so good that I was in love before I tasted it. Thanks waiter was excellent and anticipated our every need. Overall it was the best steakhouse I've been to, and I've been to many in the Minneapolis area.

The generous pour wine offerings were not that great. It was a collection of eight mediocre wines for you to taste and drink. I'd rather have had a glass of something special.... But I did get a good buzz from all that wine so I won't dock them a star.
