This venue is pretty great as far as appearance goes... Plenty of room, upstairs and downstairs, inside and outside... It's also on top of several bars. Which is good. Because if your event involves alcohol, you do not want to have it here. The workers were all very friendly and helpful, but the ridiculous rules surrounding the serving and drinking of alcohol on the premises really put a huge damper on the wedding/reception I attended...
Management said they were unable to make the punch the groom wanted because they couldn't serve Bacardi 151 or Everclear? So they substituted a different recipe which had so little alcohol people were carrying around two or three cups at a time. The best man brought up shots from a bar downstairs for the toast. Management dumped them out when he found them on ice. The drinks ran out after 30 minutes, but that was ok because most of what I saw was groups of people standing around joking about how crappy the drinks were.
The manager was genuinely unfriendly and uptight from the second we met him, and it just got worse as the night went on... Down to the point where he demanded the guests stay and clean up the place because the whole thing ran late, under threat of a $500.00 fine...
The wedding itself ran very late, so I don't hold the venue accountable for a lot that went on... I will just say that if you intend to use this spot, make sure you don't want alcohol involved and you don't mind an uptight manager floating around frowning and glaring in disapproval a lot.
