This "posh" and "very hip" luxury hotel, housed in the renovated Charles Street Jail, offers "top-of-the-line" service and excites guests with the "fantastic concept" of its "unique interior" and "funky" style; the "beautiful" and "quiet" rooms (most in a modern, 16-story tower) feature floor-to-ceiling windows, and serve as a retreat from the "very lively" scene in the downstairs rotunda, where the "vibrant nightlife" includes a "dramatic lobby" that doubles as a bar, prison-themed Alibi lounge (filled with celebrity mug shots), and chef Lydia Shire's Scampo restaurant.

Lots of noise from ambulances and traffic and construction. Otherwise pretty good hotel. A bit on the expensive side for room service but plenty of restaurants around.

The liberty hotel is amazing! One of the best parts is being able to walk right out of your hotel room, grab drinks, and immediately find yourself in the middle of Boston nightlife. This could be a turn off for some people as the hotel can get packed at night time full of people drinking. The only drawback is that parking is $50 per night and not part of the hotel rate.

Fantastic amenities, rooms, and service. For a very low price. Could not be happier.

It's for a different demographic than we are.......more for 25 - 50 year olds. Rooms are fine and ask for high floor away from elevators with view of Charles River. Weekends are crazy so no upgrades normally. Service is outstanding. The problem is that you enter up an escalator which makes you feel like you're in a convention hotel at a cocktail party for 35 year olds even when you come home from dinner. It's not for us and for $750/night (includes tax and convention fee) it's 2 to 3 times too expensive. Again, service is terrific as is in room dining for breakfast............but not for us.

Rooms are unimpressive. Malfunctioning electrical outlets, old carpet, boring decor. Staff are slovenly and not particularly friendly or responsive. Very overpriced for the level of service. Beautiful building and a nice ambiance in the lobby, but a poorly executed concept. Good dining or cocktails are a long walk or a cab ride away. Stop for drinks, stay at one of the numerous other good options in the area.
