Great brunch and overall great food. However, the quality has gone down since they lost their founding chef. I highly recommend the buffet brunch

Had a fantastic experience here for happy hour. The bartenders were attentive, friendly, and when I was moved to the lounge area to meet the rest of my party, they happily and easily transferred my tab without a hassle. Great grilled cheese and pizzas.

Bottom-line up front: Liberty Tavern's DJ is the best DJ in Arlington, D.C., and one of the best I've heard in recent memory. He could team up with a group like Run The Jewels and be legit. I'm not sure the DJ's name. Can Liberty Tavern put his contact info and a special page on their website or something? If I were Liberty Tavern, I'd slap this guy with a franchise tag for Clarendon bars, because this dude has serious talent. Pay this dude, he's the real deal. I hope he keeps getting better, and I look forward to seeing his rise.

After saying that, I'll agree with some other posts. The music is too loud by about 2 clicks on an iMac volume scale. Just a few decibels too loud in there. But, I like to get hyped on sick beats, so it's better than too quiet?

Self-described music nerd: I play professional guitar, and lover of all things hip-hop; old-school to new-school. This DJ blends all elements perfectly and actually spins records. Mad, mad props. Not sure if he does any other events, but I'd like to hire this dude.

I have to start by saying the Vermont Pizza is amazing and the service has always been great. That being said, if you like loud crammed places, this place is for you. If you want to have a nice dinner with your wife, go somewhere else. The food has always been good, and our server was excellent on this visit, but the tables our so close together you have people on both sides of you that you feel like you should include in the conversation. Plus, the decor makes the sound bounce around so much and you can barely understand the person sitting across from you because there is so much background noise. Of course since it is loud, people start speaking louder to be able to be heard, and the noise snowballs out of control.

If you are 20 something you will probably have a great time at their bar though.
