I went to this restaurant for my birthday with my husband. The food was good. I was disappointed with the service. The waiter literally read the menu descriptions to us. He spoke way to fast and speed by the table 16 times in total interrupting my husband's and I to tell us about another menu item we never asked about. Several other restaurant workers also stopped by the ask about our meal. It was far from a peaceful and enjoyable evening with all the unwanted interruptions. I was not impressed with the service.

I have been coming to this Oceanaire for about nine years. The bar area is by far the best spot. I love watching the oysters get freshly shucked and watching the bartenders work their magic. The bar menu is very good, as is all the food. My favorite is still just getting as many oysters as possible, along with their amazing bread and pickles. Recently they added crab cake and filet sliders that hit the spot quite nicely. The ceviche and mussels on the bar menu are great too. The service is exceptional and really makes the experiences. Most of the staff have been there since the beginning and really know what they are doing. Always super excited to come here!

I'm a sucker for a good crab cake and theirs are bar none my absolute favorite. Ever. So yea. Their food is basically the bomb dot come. Definitely a nicer setting it's ideal for a date or showing off to your parents. The seafood is always beyond fresh and prepared to perfection. But the crab cakes are seriously on a different level.

Good food but peculiar experience with the waiter. Name withheld but it rhymes with train. He was disengaged. It was not busy when we arrived but it took a long time to provide my guests with a beverage and some appetizers. When the main course arrived the additional servers seemed agitated that they had to remove the appetizer plates to make room. Likely because our (missing) server wasn't doing his job for this 7-person, $800 tab. The whole thing was just weird, overpriced, and they were out of many menu items. The manager was clueless. Completely unaware of the silent fiasco that was happening 15 feet away from him. I can't recommend this place, which is too bad. As my father would say, "Look around and take it all in.........'cause this is the last time we'll be here."

For "special occasions", folks rely on this Gaslamp link of the popular chain known for "fresh seafood cooked perfectly" and matched with excellent wines and classic cocktails that hit the mark; it's "expensive" and there's no view to speak of in the second-floor space, but rich decor with plush booths and personalized" service help to make it a true fine-dining experience.
