"Historical hipness" clings to this "iconic" '80s-era bistro, once a happening scene and now a "favorite mainstay" for TriBeCa locals seeking "well-prepared" Franco-American meals; the "relaxed vibe" and "great people-watching" mean it's "still fun" for everything from brunch to "late-night" snacking.

The eggs Benedict was good, but it was standard for the price. It's a very pricy brunch place, so I expected something a bit more "culinary." But I have had far better Benedict at numerous breakfast establishments in Brooklyn that far surpassed this place. However, if you want an "upscale" Manhattan brunch feel, and want to spend the extra $10-$20 for brunch per person for drinks, then this is your place.

I came here for lunch with a friend in the middle of the work week. While the decor seems reminiscent of an old American diner, the menu and the prices are anything but. A BLT here is $17. This isn't a bad thing, just an observation. Perhaps the price rating should bump up an extra $.
Service was quick and polite. I ordered the Tuna Burger, which was phenomenal. The house recommends ordering it medium rare. My friend ordered the Croque Monsieur, which he enjoyed as well.
I will likely come back here again. It seems like a pretty good location for a low-pressure date. I'm also eager to try the items from the dinner menu.

One of my favorite restaurants in New York City. I've been coming here for at least 15 years if not more and it's still excellent. The burger and fries are always the best and a real experience. But everything on the menu is great, you certainly can't go wrong here. Good stiff drinks as well.

Famous since Warhol's day, and immortalized in Jay McInerney's novel Bright Lights, Big City, Odeon was arguably the first hip New York bistro. Today it's a downtown fixture known to everyone from local families to curious visitors who come here day and night for great steak frites and monster martinis. Success persists because Odeon refuses to rest on its laurels: The retro-bistro dining room is well maintained, service is snappy and Grey Goose has replaced Absolut. The tried-and-true brasserie menu features perfect steak au poivre, a wonderful seared tuna sandwich enriched with arugula and wasabi mayonnaise, fine country salads and big juicy burgers. Not incidentally, there's a great bar, which still sees plenty of star power. People watching improves by the hour, culminating with a late-night party of club kids and fashionistas.
