The restaurant could be mistaken for a residence from the outside if not for the sign out front. Once inside, the decor was very nice with surprisingly good artwork from local high schools and a very cozy feel over all. I ordered the seafood special which was a nice take on the classic fish and chips, battered catfish with a side of fried potato chunks and a delicious salad. My SO and I were able to eat very well including a beer for me and a shared dessert for ~$50.

We had a very enjoyable meal last summer at the Owl House. We took our young niece who lives in the country and rarely goes into Rochester (the big city) It was a great experience for us all.

My beet salad consisted of wilted, old arugula and sliced metallic-tasting beets, as they neglected include any of the other toppings. I ordered sides of avocado and tofu, however the avocado was brown and rotten in parts. I was charged $17 for a salad I hardly ate, even after pointing out the issues to the server. Was excited to try The Owl House, but could not be more disappointed.

I was here before about a year ago, and I was pleased to see a few changes. It appears that they made some renovations to the place; everything seemed to have a fresh coat of paint, and all of the pictures have been replaced with ones of owls. I liked it a lot. It's also worth noting that the atmosphere is very informal, I could only describe it briefly as "hipster" or "alternative."

I'm going to preface this by saying I'm not a vegetarian. I don't know how this compares to other vegetarian food, but from my point of view I though the food was pretty good. I think The Owl House should be listed as $$ instead of $, because I paid ~$17 for a large plate of essentially pasta, spinach, and sausage. But they do have cheaper options on their menu, and most of their sandwiches are about $8.
