Long lines go with the territory at these busy, busy, busy Beacon Hill and South Boston brunch faves offering classic American cooking in an atmosphere of organized chaos at breakfast and lunch thanks to the cafeteria-style seating system – wait, order and pay, then find a table (regulars insist it works perfectly); dinner is full-service in the cozy space, but whatever the meal, the staff is helpful and charming.

Grilled Chorizo omelette was delicious and my wife loved her Banana caramel French toast. Their system of seating people actually works, yeah it took 40-45min but we we're eating in 45min. Other places it's just 45min to be seated and you still have to wait for drinks and for them to take your order ... If you're lucky you'll be eating within 1-1.5hrs anywhere else. Give this place a chance to make you happy with their delicious food.

Only been able to make it through the door 1/2 the times I've tried because it's always packed for brunch. But amazing food and worth the wait.

Gets slammed at peak brunch hour which will leave you waiting for 40 mins in line to order your food.

But if you can catch it early or late, the french toast or fried chicken sandwich are worth the wait. It's a scratch kitchen so you really can't go wrong in ordering here though.

The dining experience at The Paramount has got to be the worst I've ever seen. It's a terrible concept and doesn't work. They line you up to order first, then you receive your food, then you pay, then you sit down. This can only be possible when the restaurant is nearly empty.

It must be said that we went on a Saturday morning, so probably the busiest time possible, and that's where it's clear to see that the concept of paying for your food before you get a table fails miserably. And it's terribly understaffed, where vacant tables remained uncleaned for the lineup of people waiting to be seated, so they're not even being efficient about it.

The only positive was that the food was pretty good. About 4/5. But it's overshadowed by a cramped stressful atmosphere.

The Paramount does deserve it's good reviews - it's a great diner for breakfast and brunch. Don't be put off by it being busy or the no reservations policy, it's got a fast turnaround.

Breakfast here then a walk on the common over the road - perfect Sunday morning.
