07/23/2015 11:31 pmSo many fruit flys i was scared to order food or a bottled booze drink. Tap beer only. They need to clean and source out the fruit flys... hint they aren't there for the atmosphere. Open your eyes you have an infestation. My girl was begging me to leave. |

04/29/2015 12:30 amOne of the few responsibly prices bars in Georgetown. This is a great place to grab a beer and some pub food. I came and had a beer with the lamb gyro. The lamb gyro was fairly average, but was filling and tasty. The gyro came with fries and the lamb gyro had tzatziki, cucumber and tomatoes in it. If you are not a fan of fatty meat, I do not recommend the lamb gyro. The people watching is fantastic, this is a primarily a Georgetown University bar. On the menu there are burgers, sandwiches salads and entree foods such as pasta and steak. Everything looked delicious here. |

06/30/2014 4:10 pmYou dont have to be a Georgetown University student or grad to enjoy this place (though not being so will put you in the minority.) Weekdays after 9, the co-eds turn this subterranean nautically themed bar into a dance club where no one was alive in the 80s. It couldnt be more different and welcoming than its stuffy upstairs neighbor, the venerable 1789. Their version of happy hour, "Study Snacks" they call it, has great prices and mouth-watering burgers brought to your table by student waiters who can carry a dozen plates at a time. Their salads, which they serve on a piping hot pizza crust are fresh and leafy, loaded with great toppings. |

05/14/2014 11:25 pmThe Tombs is pretty much a rite of passage for any Georgetown University student, and as such it is really a DC establishment that you should check out at least once (assuming you don't have a problem with a bar geared towards college kids). The food is decent and generally reasonably priced (especially their specials), and the servers are usually friendly. Overall, an all-around okay "watering hole", so to speak! |
