The Venetian Room, Orlando, Florida Restaurant Details

We will remember The Ventian Room as the highlight of our visit to Orlando. It was one of the best meals we've ever experienced, beautifully presented, REALLY tasty, with a delightful surprise around every corner.

The wait staff started a little stiff, but relaxed after they discovered that we're down to earth and prefer a more collegial experience. I put myself in the waiter's hands by taking his suggestion of a Pinot Noir, which was good, and his suggestion of the evening special, which was outstanding. I didn't ask the price of either the wine or the main course and was not met with any sticker shock. So, no funny stuff. No additional charges for bottled water, none of that idiocy you sometimes encounter in expensive restaurants. I also appreciated that the same waiters took care of us all evening, not the round robin you sometimes find these days. All in all, it was a wonderful evening of great food.

Dinner was a disaster form the beginning till end. It all started with a HAIR I found on the chef compliment, I wonder how the waiter has not notice a black hair on the little white plate-this is totally inappropriate for any kind of restaurant, not mentioning the fine dining. The dessert was the worts part, I ordered my favorite dessert-grand mariner soufflé, and that when fun began, waiter sticked the knife in it-but it never deflated, not even a little bit, but instead of apologizing he pretended that nothing happened and started to pour cream in it. Of course when I tried it was totally raw with very unpleasant eggy flavor, then they substitute it with tiramisu-it didn't have any coffee and rum in it-the things that make tiramisu so delicious, instead it was just a blend cake . They ended up not charging us for appetizer and desserts, but the worst happen when I got home. I was sick the whole night and fist part of the next day, I figured it was either my fish or dessert,since my husband was ok. The only creditI I would give is to the waiter-we had 2 of them serving us, the older guy with mustache was very professional and nice. I, personally, don't recommend this place.
