Occasionally a hunger calls you, a craving of which you can only answer. I had such a craving today, and the only way to tame its nagging request was to call Tijuana Tacos and ask if they had tamales. This is a regular lunch spot for my co-workers and me. The friendly service is accentuated with the splendid variety of sauces that accompany the addictive chips that greet you at your table. My personal favorite is an order of Carnitas tacos with any one of the freshly made tamales. Anything selected from the menu will satisfy. Do not be intimidated by its appearance. This is a local spot, as local as you can get. Enjoy the friendly service and terrific food.

Don't let the exterior fool you. This is the best Authentic Mexican food in Baltimore. We tried a smörgåsbord of things b/c it all looked so yummy. First we had a spicy beef sope, with beans, fresh cream, lettuce and onions on top. Yum! Next was the tostada and folks this is not Taco Bell. Shredded Chicken Tinga, with a nice bite and yes, the cool but so rich cream to top it off. At this point it feels like Thanksgiving b/c it is just so good you don't want to stop. However we must add to the list, chile rellenos, with just enough batter and a tomato sauce that was rich and hearty. Did I forget to mention the Horchata, sweet and mellow, with a small cinnamon aftertaste. Take your pick of Jarritos, I chose mango. The place is small but I recommended you take your friends and fill it up!

I went there a couple weeks ago with my boyfriend after hitting up the game store across the street. We both had steak burritos and watermelon juice. The food was delicious, the portions were huge, and the price was cheap. We only live two blocks away, so we'll be going a lot more often.
