Tio Leo's Mexican Restaurant, San Diego, California Restaurant Details

Food:

Though not "frequently", I've been eating there since shortly after it opened. The food is both consistent & consistently GOOD!

Food:

I would describe Tio Leo's as a tacky restaurant with awful customer service, and sub-par mexican food.
Our waitress forgot out order twice, didn't bring us water or chips for 20 minutes after asking multiple times, and didn't even notice that she put in the wrong order to the kitchen for our table. On top of that, when we told her we didn't order what she brought out, there was no sorry or anything- just "oh...that's what i have written down....you didn't order this...? okay...". To make it worse, she's not new, she's been there for years, according to another employee. I've never had worse service, so take that as you will.

As for the food, there are much better options even in drive through in this area alone, much less actual restaurants. I recommend Taco Fiesta, right down the street or even On the Border about 5 minutes away - it'll be much cheaper and noticeably better.

All in all, I refuse to return here. If you're just going to have some margaritas, you might be safe, but I wouldn't bet on it.

Not a bad spot to grab some brews before the game. They're right by a trolley stop, have occasional live music and I've heard that their singles night is as raging as a singles night in Bay Park can be. Chips and salsa galore plus the chance I might run into my Tinder match, done. Ole!

We had a great time at happy hour, the drinks were prompt and good.
Very nice manager and we will definitely god back for the fun, comfortable atmosphere and yummy food.

The enchilada was good. Nachos a bit cold but friendly service. We also like the atmosphere.
