Just be careful of how you dress and what color you are when trying to celebrate the night within Adam Morgan's popular dive bar, TomTom. What do I mean? If you're black you better hope the door guys are in a good mood. Cause they won't let you in. Two friends of mine and I attempted to meet two female friends at the bar so we could get some drinks and catch up. Dressed up, and feeling nice we came to the front door for the bouncer to take a quick look at my friend, who was in a short sleeved Polo shirt, cargo shorts and Chuck Taylors and turn us away. When we asked why were weren't allowed to come in, he stated that, "They don't allow guys to wear clothing with writing on them." (take note that the only thing my friend had on his shirt was the "Polo emblem!!" Sure enough I looked inside and easily spotted the words "FITCH" across the back of a man's shirt. He also added that we were wearing our clothes baggy. (Which we definitely weren't). This was a darn shame. Because of this little problem we had to call the girls and tell them to come out cause we couldn't get through the front door. Embarrassing. Now I understand from a bouncer or managers point of view, it's important to keep the riff-raff, thugs, and belligerent folk out, but we weren't drunk, loud or behaving violently in anyway. When we walked away we saw a line of people who were not of African heritage with saggy, obviously dirty jeans, Abercrombie shirts, jerseys and hats. With the removal of a hat everyone else was let in just fine. It is not the 1950's and 60's anymore! How this still happens in a city with such a high population of black people bothers me.

The place had a nice atmosphere and a good group of people, music was great usually it's techno playing which it was nice to hear some good music while having fun with the friends.
