The food is pretty good, but as as a value proposition, this is about as bad as it comes. I don't have a problem paying for good food, but when you are charging $25 for appetizer sized portions you expect something closer to a spiritual awakening with each bite. I wasn't getting that. Maybe a good place to go have a pretentious dinner or a business meeting that you can write off as a company expense.

Had a great experience at tomo. Upon arriving we waited about 15 minutes for our waiter to come take our orders, and the manager cliff came out to personally apologize and gave us our meal on the house. The food was great and this resturant obviously takes pride in their customer service. Will be returning

Tomo is a good restaurant and it's got a great big group of people who love it, but it's not my favorite Atlanta sushi restaurant. I work nearby so I eat here for lunch quite frequently. In short... lunch entrees are good and come with miso soup (not a fan) and ginger salad. I have eaten dinner here only once and my dinner dining experience was better than my lunch experience but I was not hanging out with an adventurous group so I don't have much in the way of advice for prospective diners about the food.

I will say that Tomo has NO problem with their air conditioner and the restaurant can sometimes be quite cold. Be sure to dress for the indoor climate!

I come to Atlanta often, and I always enjoy great sushi. My favorite place in Atlanta was MF, but they closed. Someone told me to come to TOMO, and I was looking forward to good Sushi, but from the time when we talked in the door to when we left the food and service was extremely bad. Some of the plates and soy sauce bowl didn't appear to be clean. The guy who was the waiter, never came and asked how our dinner was. It was very disappointing, and very much over priced. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.

The Omakase experience at Tomo restaurant is nothing short of amazing. We came here for the very 1st time based on a raving recommendation from a close friend who frequents this restaurant so we decided to give it a shot on my b-day. We didn't know what to expect but seing that there were so many people at this restaurant on a Thursday evening spoke volumes right from the start to me.

We were served by (some sheer stroke of luck and fate combined?) Chef Tomo himself which had me giddy all the way from the beginning to end. His skill, technique, passion, and quality really struck a chord with me and I had very high respect for this master chef. During our meal we had a good conversation and I was pleased to learn that the secret to his success was his ability to lead and not follow. I love that. You can see this clearly in his omakase dish which truly is in one word, amazing.

The prices are a bit high but deservedly so, and I did not feel like we wasted money as the experience itself of being served by one of Atlanta's finest Japanese sushi chefs was truly reminiscent of the saying : the juice was worth the squeeze.

The appetizers, sushi, brewskie, martini, and service (our waiter was astounding - ask for Ferry) were all truly top notch. I can confidently rank Tomo among the best restaurants that I've been to or tried in Atlanta, GA and recommend them highly.
A++ and 5 solid yelp stars for me!

Domo Arigato Gozaimasu Chef Tomo and have a positive day.

At his upscale Buckhead Japanese, master chef Tomohiro Naito creates inspired sushi made with fresh, flavorful seafood (including an amazing omakase menu), served along with an unmatched sake list in chic surrounds; while some find the service disappointing and the tabs too expensive, most deem it a terrific experience.|"Seriously sensational sushi" from chef-owner Tomohiro Naito is the hallmark of this beloved Japanese in a "luxury" residential building in Lenox; add in "impeccable" service, a "premium sake" list and "expensive" tabs, and followers say it's "like going to Nobu" but "without the NYC hassles."
