We went there for lunch on 11/18/2015, first visit. Line out the door, chilly, only accepts cash (luckily I had some), and my entire hour for lunch was eaten up driving there and back and waiting....WORTH IT!! Might have taken a slightly longer lunch...SHHHHH!!

I had the BBQ Pork, greens, Mac & Cheese, jalapeno cornbread and southern sweet tea, and of course I put hot sauce on all of it, and it was amazing!

I raved about it when I got back to work, and when I got home to the roommates. I am looking forward to going back, and trying something else.

My girl and I were craving good fried chicken on National Fried Chicken Day. After googling this place we decided to go check it out. Friendly service and great food, but get there at 11 or prepare to wait on line. They are only open till 2 pm and only accept cash. The food is that good as long as eaten in moderation. If I lived close to this place, I'd be in trouble. Southern food is not for the diet conscious.

I was visiting Denver and a beautiful woman took me to this nice little soul food restaurant owned and operated by two white guys who happens to be a couple. My skepticism quickly dissipated as I entered and smelled what my nose knows to be good food. The food was amazing! I told my friends that I was traveling with and we went the very next day!

Wow. I cannot believe how much I enjoyed my lunch today. There is a reason they call it soul food. I made it fifteen minutes before they closed. The fried catfish, cabbage with bacon and peach cobbler were my selections today. I got regular cornbread. So the cornbread was just not good for my taste. Totally dry, I felt it sticking in my throat. I decided just to let it sit on the side. However, my stomach real estate was happily used up by the incredible fried catfish. Light and delicate, it was the perfect fried fish with the right amount of seasoning.

The cabbage was garlicky with chunks of bacon. And the peach cobbler? Holy moly was this good. Peach slices with what tasted like almond extract in a sauce with pieces of pie crust. Wow. So seriously good.

This place is exactly what 3 stars mean: mediocre and just acceptable. My bbq pork was decently textured (not too rubbery) but drowned in an oily, salty sauce that tasted more like molasses than anything else. Collard greens were cooked great but, have mercy, i couldn't taste anything but salt and that slight bitterness I love out of collard greens. The mac and cheese was the best part of my meal which was made quite traditionally; no crazy gouda or smoked cheeses combos, no spices, just pure, classic 'Murrica-made style just too salty.

This is a cash only place which is a problem for me because I don't carry cash, especially around 5 points/Curtis Park. I work in the area and know it isn't a great place yet but it is up and coming. Today, our regional manager paid for lunch, but I don't think I'll be dishing out $13(+) for a lunch of this standard anytime soon. I will say that it was a huge plate of food, and it was quite filling.

Not quite sure how this place is rated a 4.7.... I guess it is a hipster's paradise: mediocre over-priced food, personable service, long lines, cash only, grungy, 70's-southern-diner-style layout, and some character in a still crappy, yet up-and-coming neighborhood....yep, definitely a hipster's paradise.... If i could give it 2.5 stars, I would.

Once you taste the "rich, delicious" Southern "comfort" fare – including "epic fried chicken" –served by the "awesome" folks who run this cash-only Five Points lunchroom, "you'll understand why" regulars warn you to "come early or get disappointed": not only is it "hard" to snatch a seat in the "busy", "tight quarters", but once "they run out" of food, they're done for the day; P.S. open for lunch only; closed weekends.
