Tony Roma's, San Antonio, Texas, American Restaurant Details

I've done a large group dinner at Tony Roma's twice now, and both times it seemed like I hadn't planned it months in advance. I showed up and they scrambled to get the tables set up and asked for copies of the menu from me. However the food is great, the service is quick, and the sea salt is awesome.

I was stupid to go in knowing it was busy ,but never in my life has it taken over 35 minutes to get just water . No restaurant ever taken that long. I had to go to hostess and ask for server and then she attempted to get water then she was talking to server then another 10 minutes. I will never give This place my business after 2 pm . I was actually at restaurant at 7 pm now 8 55 pm . Manger doesn't know how to run this restaurant. The last 3 times I went here never get what I ask for written down and no bacon on my burgers when the discription says bacon . BEING CHEAP NOT COMMUNICATING WITH PATRONS ,TAKING ADVANTAGE OF US SO UNETHICAL.

They brag about having the BEST RIBS IN AMERICA, which I did order. But Chilli's are just as good and even cheaper. We also ordered the spicy shrimp appetizer and it's basically popcorn shrimp with a spicy and very tasty seasoning and sauce served on top of lettuce. for desert we ordered the trio which was pretty good. Definitely get the the trio dessert, it's enough for 2+ The best thing about this place is their restroom!!! The margarita scented salt scrub was probably the best thing I could do to wash my hands before I eat. It was like Tony Roma wanted to ensure that his guests get a good hand scrubbing before you eat. Then I also noticed small little cups on the counter when I was drying my hands.... I browsed to the side and there was a dispenser of mouthwash!!! That was also the best thing thing ever!!! ALL restaurants should do that!!! Especially since I ordered the garlic green beans, which btw do not get! They're wrinkled and the garlic was over powering!!!! They also have a bad gnat problem and I also noticed a small roach crawling on the wall, which I let go cause I understand the place is in an old building.

the service was slow and the food was cold when we finally received it. we were seated immediately and waited more than one hour for our food. When we asked what was taking so long the waiter replied we have to cook it and when it's done we'll bring it out. within 2 minutes we had cold food. I'd NEVER rebounded recommend this place.

We used to be big TR fans until some bad experiences turned us away
Recently my husband said he wanted some ribs so we went back. Boy what a difference. The food was great. I loved the picata. The potato soup was delicious and my husband whose mouth is paralyzed on his left side had no trouble enjoying his ribs. We are so glad TR is back.
