02/12/2012 8:41 pmNothing like when Toni owned it but the food is still good and the price keeps us going back all these years. The service is getting better and they are keeping the place cleaner. The snob attitude can still be there on busy nights but they bend over backwards on the slow nights for you. The guys making the rolls are great and work hard. The soap in the bathroom smells good. |

10/19/2011 5:36 pmBest sushi in San Diego! My kids love it too. I recomend the 18pc tuna roll, San Diego roll & miso soup. Happy hour is the best time to go but beware the parking lot is not that good. |

08/23/2011 5:37 pmOk, after reading some of these negative reviews, I'm baffled as to why they even exist. I went last night for my birthday dinner with a coupon from Daily Deals. It was delicious and so worth. You can't beat the prices and since its a small restaurant, you don't have to wait forever for you food. They bring it faster than you can eat it. We had the Dennis roll, the samon roll (18 piece for under $7 btw), cruchy house roll, and the eel roll. All were VERY good and three out of four were under $7. We had a miso soup, which was only $1. It came steaming hot and was also quite good. I will concur with the other review about the tofu in it. Its spungy and I would recmomend avoiding it. Other that, the service was great, the waitresses were friendly and the big screen tv wasn't blaring. Overall, it was an awesome experience and I will return soon and often. People need to keep in mind that its not five star sushi, so consider the very reasonable prices. Very good sushi for very good prices ;) |

04/27/2011 1:09 pmThis place was pretty decent, I'm a big sushi fan and have eaten lots of sushi, other fans of sushi would probably say that this place does not have the freshest fish. I'd say the fish quality is on par with Todai, so if fish quality is really important to you I'd say avoid this place, but all other aspects of the food were great. Definitely get the baked mussels and any of the baked rolls, they're some of the best I've had. The miso soup was different, they threw in onion and something else that made it taste better than average. Portions are big on everything except the baked rolls, so come hungry. If you have a smaller mouth you might want to put in a special request to cut the rolls into smaller pieces because they come out BIG. |
