Went on a Thursday night around 7pm...busy but not overwhelming at first. As the night went on it got a lil uncomfortable, elbow room only. Awesome selection of beer, food was surprisingly good too.

Beer Geek Heaven. One year ago, my girlfriend and I stumbled in here on vacation. (We knew the reputation, but hadn't been in.) Since we asked to see the "bottle list," even with offerings from Russian River, Societe, and more on draft, we were asked about our beer-cation plans by the imposing but super-friendly Pacific Islander bartender. Three beers later and WE'RE HEADING TO ALPINE with Nate, The. Man. To. Know. at Toro (and, like, 1000 other places around SD).

As new San Diego residents, we still head here often. Vibe is chill, uncrowded during most days and early week evenings, and regularly-scheduled world-class beer events. Go here. Ask for Nate. Tell him I sent you.

Best spot for beer, but the food is good too. Better to go for lunch or off hours because it's very crowded during peak times.

Like beer? Then this is the bar for you. GREAT deals. Some beers are $4 every night and Monday is local brew night, meaning all local beers were $4. They also had a few $3 specials. Great prices and nice quick bartenders. There was on woman manning the bar and she was quick, kind, and efficient. The Mac n cheese was a huge portion of gooey white cheese and noodles and the club sandwich was as big as my cousin's head! Haha. Fun little hole in the wall. Cool vintage tin posters around too.

Toronado's on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, or any other busy night of the week is a freaking bust. Too many people. Too loud. Not enough space. Yes, I get it for beer aficionados this is as good as it gets. But try telling your friends that when you're surrounded by loud drunk hipsters and old men who won't move an inch even when you simply want a drink.

Bartenders get rude when it's busy- I get it. This joint simply cannot hold that many people, and they are jam packed. Nobody really leaves, so there's no good place to sit down and have a nice conversation.

Sure, come by and look in awe and all the micro brews and the local booze they feature, have one drink. Then get the hell outta there.
