Food:

What makes a good sports bar? Is it the number of TVs showing every imaginable permutation of sporting event available worldwide? The quality and innovation of food, with nouvelle twist on fries and chicken fingers? Attractiveness of bar mavens peddling three dozen varieties of beer on tap, not to mention the countless in bottles? Or the carefully picked sartorial concerns of of a thin and well coiffed crowd?

No. You only require crappy food (preferably from Sysco or Aramark's distinguished frozen catalog and deep fried), cold beer, a staff willing to bring you said beer and change to your team's game, cheap prices and friendly sympathetic fans to commiserate with you.

Touchdown achieves on every level in that regard. It's not the biggest (you indeed might find slightly larger digs in basement rec room), but what it lacks in size it makes up for in daily happy hour and a pliant and cheery staff.

If you must get out and watch a game (and what is sports watching if not our last great weekly commune), this is probably one of the better spots in the city to do so.

Food:

The service was nice but the food was horrific. The Philly Sandwich with the applewood smoked bacon smelled like dog food and tasted like the meat had expired. The fries were ok, but nothing special considering they were duck fat fries. The nachos were just fake nacho cheese with a can of chili dumped on top. A good place to grab a beer and watch a game, but NOT for eating.
