Breakfast was very good. Nice portions, and the wait staff were friendly. Excellent service.

If I could give more than 5 stars, I would! The atmosphere is perfect for Little Italy with both indoor and outdoor seating. Their homemade bread they serve for the table is the best I've ever had at an Italian restaurant. You can mix up some oil on the table for it and you wont be disappointed. A carafe of cold water is also provided at the table for convenience as well, which I consider a plus.

The lobster bisque was the soup special the night we stopped by, and it was amazing. Order the braised beef meal (don't recall the exact name of the dish). It's served with mashed potatoes, but my husband ordered it with linguine instead. Wow!. They made it with a delicious brown sauce with a generous portion of meat. It was amazing. We will return next time we visit San Diego.

Oh, and don't be confused - Trattoria Fantastica and Cafe Zucchero are side by side. Apparently the cafe is more of a bakery/coffee shop. Their desserts looked fabulous, but we were too full from dinner to order anything!

My pasta was cold. The tomate sauce is good. Restroom took more than 30 minutes to be freed for use. Nobody was cleaning but was showing as it was. Just an overprice touristic place where they come once and never come back... Like myself.

Authentic Italian..wonderful atmosphere with the setting. The singer was good and enjoyed seeing all people walking in to buy deserts. Price was reasonable and severs were attentive and friendly.

WORST EXPERIENCE

All the food that came out was garbage.
The service was very poor.
Giovanni, our waiter with his fake Italian accent, charged our credit card twice.
When we called, the manager was very unprofessional, rude and did nothing to solve our issue.
Don't waste your money here.

There's "always a warm reception" at this memory-making Little Italy trattoria serving authentic moderately priced Sicilian dishes and "amazing" desserts since 1983; it's true the charming dining room can be a little cramped, but most "love" sitting on the outdoor patio anyway.
