07/09/2014 10:24 pmI got a tiramisu to go while I was shopping in the Lincoln square area. The tiramisu is decent. Nothing too spectacular. |

08/30/2013 2:12 amBeen here a number of times the last three years. It's been hit or miss, with dishes ranging from great to "what makes this even remotely worth $30?" As a fine dining server myself, I notice service is usually slow at the beginning and ending. One time it took 15 minutes to get our drink order taken on a slow weekday. Ask for the check in advance if you want to leave on your own time. But I know it happens, such is restaurant industry. I made a special reservation tonight and informed the host first I had an expired Groupon I wanted to use for the bought value. "No problem. " Then I gave my name, number, then clarified it was two people at the end. Well, it was definitely a problem. Turns out you can't use a 4 person Groupon for 2 people, oops. I thought when it expired it didn't matter, but I was wrong and so it goes. Would have been nice if that was communicated during the reservation before I gave the party number: "Is that the Groupon for two or four?" Or, as my own restaurant did during our Groupon craze, confirm the Groupon before the guests order anything. I take most of the blame for the miscommunication anyway but it doesn't change the prior service experiences, nor the rude dismissal of my most recent problem. Kudos to the backwaiters though - I noticed the ones working there are always on point and friendlier than most of the servers. Also, the "specials" they verbally list are typically more expensive than the listed dishes, just fyi. |

06/16/2013 8:07 pmThis is one of my favorite places in the area. The restaurant itself is warm and cozy, and very welcoming. The food here is also to die for, I should know based on my scale the next day. I highly recommend the rapini and pasta dish, as well as the bean puree pasta. |
