09/20/2015 6:54 pmWorst Mexican food I've eaten since being in Omaha. Not really sure why ppl think this is Mexican. Waitress was rushing us at closing time, removed salsa from table without asking if we're finished just so she'd be that much closer to getting outta there. Food was horrible. I'm sorry for all of you who've written reviews of how delicious this place is, has never had REAL AUTHENTIC MEXICAN FOOD. I guess I need to venture outside OldMarket. 45 more days in Omaha. Maybe I'll find authentic Mexican food before I leave. |

09/19/2015 8:48 pmThe food is terrible by any standard. This is Mexican cuisine for upper class white elitists too timid to venture into south Omaha who have no idea what any type of Hispanic food should taste like because they have never traveled outside the US. I have a hard time believing that this establishment has been open for over two decades considering that I have eaten more authentic food at Taco Bell for a third of the price. The fact Jose Cuervo is listed as a top shelf tequila is hilarious, but also an indicator of the quality of the product relative to listed menu prices. In addition to these short comings the service was slow, the servers were inattentive and aloof, and the other patrons were loud and obnoxious (probably because they were just there to get drunk given that there was a drink special). I literally had to get up and go to the wait station to get almost everything we needed through the course of the meal and there were only two tables (our party of three and the party of 8 drunks). The only thing that Trini's has going for it is that it is in the Old Market. It is not special in any other way and eating there is a waste of time and money unless you just want to go for cheap margaritas. |
