I love spicy food and I'm always looking for good new restaurants to try out. I just moved to this area and I've passed by this restaurant a few times and decided to give it a try. My friend and I went for lunch and had a very nice waitress who answered all of our questions that we asked.
Prices were so reasonable, and portions were large. I got Jerk shrimp which came with mixed vegetables and a choice of side, it came with 12 shrimp. I asked the waitress which side to get and she suggested the rice with spinach in it, and it was fantastic. The jerk shrimp was just the right amount of spiciness, hot but not too much. The shrimp was covered in cooked carrots which i usually do not like but the sauce that the shrimp was cooked in was on them and made it taste great.
This place reminded me of Jazz but with a spicier edge. It defiantly had a real Caribbean feel to it. There were murals painted on the wall and the tropical theme was everywhere. At one point the manager came by to ask me and my friend how we were doing, which I found very nice. He told us that on fridays they has live bands, reggae and whatnot. You can be sure I'll be back for that. They even had a small dance floor for when the bands play.
When I got my bill it was only $16.50 which included my LARGE portions of food and a Pina colada drink. Great service, and great gem of a resturaunt. Don't know how I've lived without it. I will be back ALOT!
