Trujillo's Taco Shop, San Diego, California Restaurant Details

Food:

Two bites into my Sigma pi, and I'm in love. Friend and online reviews brought me out here at 9:30pm Saturday after moving here from Minnesota.

Food is fresh, tasty, and staff is polite, friendly, and fast! Got it to-go and was out of there within 5 minutes.

Definitely a great experience for my first California burrito. I'll be back here a lot!

Best taco shop around. Whenever I'm in San Diego I have to stop here. I am not sure if still the same owners from when i first started going here 10 years ago but the atmosphere and food are still the same. Could use a good pin ball machine like they used to have. Phi psi burrito is definitely the best made burrito.

My favorite Mexican place in the college area. Carne asada fries and California burritos!

This place is overrated. I was expecting a decent california burrito before I visited here because the review was good. But that was it. The california burrito here is very disappointing. And no salsa bar. $7 plus tips for a burrito? I would rather eat cheaper burritos at the other one just across the street.

The owner brags on winning thirty bucks on the fut bol game with spanish soccer announcers blaring on the television. We sit and try to talk over the soccer game while workers behind the counter stuff food in there cheeks. My companion enjoyed his vegetatian burrito with the tail end of the chivas / america game behind me. He also said that the hot sauce was excelent and he could not get enough. No order number was given although they shout over the too loud TV random numbers.

Cali Burro:
Found no guacamole
Not even sour cream
1st quarter - all meat
2nd quarter - found potato
3rd quarter - cheese atlast
Last quarter - a taste of pico and the rest of the cheese

Small drink:
The owner said they were out "Dr Pepper" (i.e. Mr Pib) as though they never have any and didn't care.
Asked for Diet Coke and got regular Coke.
First refill, (Diet Coke this time) got a cup half full of ice.
Second refill, after asking for no ice the owner wanted to just fill the small cup up without adding additional ice and I had to say again, "With no ice please."
As he gave me the second refill he says, "Seventy five cents for next refill."
I told him, "I'll add that to my review."
