Super friendly staff and delicious, cheap food. Ambiance and neighborhood leave something to be desired, but that's not why I come here :)

Food here is amazing and the price is very reasonable! We got another dish which we did not order. Even we tried to pay for it, the owner did not charge us for it! Very good place to enjoy Vietnamese food!

Without a doubt, this remains one of the very best Vietnamese restaurants with no pretentions whatsoever. You can't go wrong - this is a family that knows their cuisine. Sketchy neighborhood is an understatement - but it's only one building shy of Market Street so there's no reason to be afraid. (If it's nighttime and you have to park lower on 6th, I might suggest parking somewhere else (say at 5th & Mission) and taking a taxi). Although the decor lacks in every possible interpretation of that word, the food is stupendous. Julia Child ate there back in the day and the food/family have not changed since. I've been eating there since 1986.

Not a better imperial roll will you find in the city. This is a combination of friendly service and cheap eats makes this the place to go when you are on a budget. Huge portion of food that will last several meals. Enjoy a great lunch or dinner in the heart of downtown San Francisco. Friendly staff and very fast service. We are always seated quickly whenever we come in. My family especially enjoys the Marinated Fish, Fried Rice, Curry Chicken, Vietnamese style Steak, Ginger Beef, Pork with Pickled Vegetables.

this is an amazing place! the waiters are amazing even though it might be somewhat though to understand them (but English is not my native language so).
the food is really good! and it's cheap!! it is seriously the best place I've been since I arrived in the USA three months ago!
I tried the pork fried rice and the imperial rolls with noodle rice and it was just awesome!
