Turtle Club Restaurant, Punta Gorda, Florida Restaurant Details

Food:

Extremely overpriced for mediocre food (at best). Food from a typical large chain restaurant is of FAR superior quality. All the staff seemed high, one waiter reeked of marijuana when he walked by. The manager Chris was way too cocky for his own good. I remember his name specifically because I was so amazed at his rudeness. I can't imagine how he could get through life with such an attitude and still be in one piece.

MORE THAN AMAZING! Can they earn a 5+++ rating?
Hostess was accommodating; wait staff was informative, helpful, thoughtful and insightful; chef: talented; manager was available and responsive. Every member of our party was well-satisfied with their meal.... Does it really get any better than this???

Food:

Eat outdoors. Best seats in the house. Of course, temperature and weather permitting.

Seafood bar is excellent. The crab claws we had were very fresh and tasty.

Main course, also excellent.

The experience is wonderful. Servers are polite and attentive, and the overall atmosphere can be summed up best by our daughter, who lives in New York City and loves to dine out. While we had dinner outside she could not stop saying positive things and finally remarked, "This is as good as any place I go in NYC. It could be a New york restaurant, except, the weather is too nice, and the prices MUCH more reasonable."

She now insists we go here on every one of her visits.

This restaurant was closed for six years, what a pleasant suprise to find it in excellent condition when it reopened. The food and service was the same as when it closed, which is also excellent. I will be visiting this restaurant as often as possible.

Five sad face girls at the reception desk......all under 20?
Our waiter David was kind of cocky. He seemed disinterested in our experience and never a friendly smile. Our drinks came out very slow. After our meals he simply asked "anything else?" almost daring us to order dessert. After he took our dessert orders he began walking away and I said.......what about coffee?.......Really????????
Food was good and the fish and chips were delish. Too bad the staff could care less about the vibes.
