This place is now closed.

Came here for Thai food on Halloween! It was delicious. The restaurant is in a great walking area, of 23rd.

What I like about typhoon is they are consistent. I love the drunken noodles with chicken. This was the first Thai place I tried in Portland - and loved it. Also enjoy the hot tea options and the little kettles they serve them in.

Idk I had a so-so time here. And I'd prefer to go to a cheaper Thai place that could serve the same quality food (perhaps better). The service was blah, had some waiter that obviously woke up on the wrong side of the bed, it just wasn't that great for me. But the one in Gresham I did enjoy.

NOT safe for gluten-free patrons and very iffy for vegans and vegetarians. After calling ahead and asking the staff (who was very nice) questions, I ordered the Buddha's feast dish from their Gluten-free and Vegetarian menus. I got sick afterward, and found that the "mushroom sauce" was actually canned oyster sauce containing caramel color, which can contain gluten. As I had my "gluten reaction" to the dish, I realized that their oyster sauce's caramel color does indeed contain gluten. I've emailed the company and hope to hear back, but vegans and those with allergies should dine with extreme caution or look elsewhere.

Mixed feelings about this place. The food and service are excellent! The space is cute and unpretentious. They have half-price bottles on Mondays (Sokol Blosser Evolution for $11 is the perfect match for their spicy dishes). But, and this is a big one, there was a recent scandal where it was discovered that the owners were mistreating their staff - basically brought them over from Thailand and virtually treated them as indentured servants.
