Great, delicious, fresh and authentic South Indian food at a half-decent location with half-decent service. If the owners spent just a little bit more effort in improving the look and feel of the interior, the experience would be phenomenal for restaurant-goers. Sometimes they play their music really loud and quite often, the songs they play aren't meant for a restaurant. Their restrooms are a mile away a the corner of the place. The parking lot is extremely haphazard and can be quite an experience if it snows or rains.
The food is quite superb. The new owners have been able to maintain the consistency of their dishes which previous owners have failed to do. Most of their dosas and vadas are excellent. It is a vegetarian restaurant and also has vegan Wednesday buffets for lunch.

Traditional Southern Indian and all vegetarian. The lunch buffet comes with a made to order Dosa (Indian style crepe filled with potatoes and spices). Thanks to the non-meat menu, they also got cleared to be Kosher, so now you have that info when you need to find a place for that one friend.

We tried all the appetisers and masala dosa. Nothing except dahi Wada was good. Badam kheer was a joke.

First of I am not a big review person, just because my experience was sooo bad, I wanted to write something on the net. Their food was ok thats why the 3 stars, it was very homemade and kept the ingredients to a minimum, On Wednesdays they were supposed to have Vegan food and Dosas to be delivered to the table included in the buffet (which was mentioned at the cash register on a small prop), surprisingly we never got it, and when we asked, the cashier said you should have asked when you were eating. Well to me that is SO NOT customer service. They didn't bother to come and take the plates off the table, given its a buffet and we take a new plate for every round, it was kind of getting crowded. I saw a lot of good reviews and decided to go, maybe they were just having a bad day.....

Amazing! We had a Dosa with potato and onion, the Vegetable Jalfrezi, and Garlic Naan.
This was the best Indian food my wife and I have ever eaten. We're not vegetarian (especially me), but the food was spectacular. So many different spices and sauces. The Dosa was just awesome. Also, they have no televisions (yay!)--TV in restaurants is a big pet peeve of mine. The atmosphere was great. And a second pet peeve--most restaurants add way too much salt, but Amma's was well-balanced; I was satisfied to have a glass of water with my meal, where at many places I drink a gallon and still feel parched all night. Finally, the prices were very reasonable for Indian food.
So Amma's wins all the way around. Their extremely high rating on Google Reviews is well deserved.
