Nalapak has been reopened as amu's madras cafe. they serve lunch buffet and dinner menu was the same as Udupi's. Glad that it is up and running again. Seems the chef is the same as Udupi cafe's. Food was excellent.

We went for dinner and the food was amazing and I could not ask for better service. I was very impressed! I read some bad reviews on here, but perhaps there have been some improvements. It simply is the best meal I have had out in awhile. Highly recommend.

We went there in 2008
and we got our food in about 2 -3 hours.
Over that the resturaunt manager was so rude that he never even once said sorry about the long delay .

My wife insisted that we try again this year hoping that the Nalapak may have improved. And Gosh we went and this time
the food came in time, but it had a bug in the Sambhar.

So I do not know whats up with the guys who are giving this lousy resturaunt 5 stars. This deserves no stars and should be
closed immediately.

You go in, place your order and the fun begins. You will experience a lot of things that you never have in a restaurant.
1. The food comes out from the kitchen in any order they prefer. Half the table will get their dishes long before the other half. By the time you are done eating the other people on your table would just be getting their food. One day, I actually went up to the manager and told them that they should serve the entire table together.
2. Once your food is served you would not see the waiter again. In case you do want something else you have to walk up to the waiter and tell them what you want.
3. If you run out of water, it’s easier to wait until you get home.
4. You must have heard “Customer is always right”. Well, not at Nalapak.

This place redefines restaurenteering. You must go there and experience that a place can make money with offering such a pathetic level of service or the lack thereof.

I hope the management reads this review and read a book or two about running a restaurant.

Average North Indian fare - but the South Indian food is excellent. Very good Dosa's and recommend the Paper Masala Dosa. Sambar is average and Chutney is really good.
