This has never been one of my favorite places to eat, but friends of ours seem to love it, so we always end up there. But never again. After being constantly ignored, and having our app. order and then entree order forgotten, I was delivered the "signature" steak. No steak sauce, so I figured it must be marinated. Nope, tasteless. Sauce for my steak then? Sorry, don't carry it. Ketchup for the fries? Nope. After losing our waitress for a third time and never having our drinks refilled, this is the closest I have ever come to walking out without paying. We now refuse whenever our friends suggest this place.

I've been there probably, five times over the last two years and always wonder why I ever go back -- maybe because they aren't very busy. Food is quite average, although they'd like you to think it's fancy cuisine. Prices are too high and the menu is very limited.

The staff at this restaurant are wonderful! My son is a Marine who was in town to propose to his girlfriend. Making the arrangements ahead of time was key due to the well thought out plan he had in place to make this a very special evening. The management worked with all of our specific details and even called back and made another suggestion to help ensure his evening would go off without a hitch. My son and his bride to be said the food was fabulous and the service was outstanding. This is a GREAT place to visit for a special occasion or just for a very good meal. You will not find food like this anywhere else in Wichita!

I was in Wichita for two weeks on business and Uptown Bistro was easily the best meal I had. The restaurant was packed because of a downtown show, so I sat at the bar. Service was a bit hit and miss because of how busy the restaurant was, but it never got to a point where I was waiting for something.

The bartender's knowledge of wines was slightly lacking, but she was able to direct me to something good, though I forget what it was.

The food was outstanding. I ordered a KC Strip steak--medium rare, with asparagus and goat cheese scalloped potatoes. The steak was nearly perfectly cooked, slightly bordering on rare, but that was fine with me. The asparagus was not memorable, that is to say, I can't think of anything good or bad to say about it. The scalloped potatoes were out of this world. Incredibly rich with golden brown breadcrumbs on top.

Dessert was a Mojito cheesecake. Initially, I thought the cracker crust was WAY too salty, but when paired with the delicious blackberry sauce that was underneath, it became perfect.

Overall, an excellent meal. One of only two places that I'd highly recommend from my two week stay.
