Uptown Juice Bar, New York, New York Restaurant Details

Food:

I have been going here years now! Throughout my pregnancy with my son in 2003, when I lived right down the block, Uptown Juice Bar was my go to eating place, and my son now 11, also loves the food, especially the pizza, the mac & cheese, the Stir-Fry Chicken & the Tofu Patties!

I can easily spend $20 just dining in for me and my son and not blink at the cost as I know we are getting our money's worth with the tasty nutrient enriched vegan dishes we purchase.
I also always get a few dishes to go, as I live very far now and I can't get to UJB as often as I like.

Service is always top notch and the staff always have a pleasant attitude!

Food:

The vegetables at this place are cooked using no meat and absolutely perfect seasonings, they are BEYOND delicious. The best stewed okra in the land. Black eyed peas can be a bore, but theirs are to die for! Everything is sold by the pound, I can get 10 different things and not spend much at all. I'll ride the subway anytime up to Harlem to chow down on this amazing food!!!

I love Uptown Veg Juice Bar! It is a must of all New Yorker's to try. They have the best vegan and vegetarian food in Harlem. One day I was sitting down and met Marcus Samuelsson. Wow he is cute! Even though Red Rooster was around the corner he rather have his lunch here. Figures. It is delicious and different from other vegan/vegetarian places.

Pro- May meet celebrities, fresh juices, food is excellent

Con- $$$ when you order a lot, you have to commute to get there

A must every time I visit New York. I've enjoyed many black vegan/vegetarian restaurants across the country (Yabba pot in Maryland, Soul Veg in Chi & ATL, Ital Calabash in Berkeley) and this might be my favorite of all. Quality of each dish, diversity of dishes, and fantastic ambiance make this place special. I love Uptown Juice Bar! Ital Jockey smoothie is the best!

Hands Down! This is my favorite Harlem Vegan Juice Bar. The environment has that real Caribbean vibe. Often times the staff is blasting reggae music. The food is excellent! I'm not even Vegan! I eat here almost every single day. I'm in love with the soy chicken and the rice and peas, the mac and cheese oh and the sweet potatoes. It just feels healthy. The juices are great also, You can't go wrong with them. They have all types of healthy combinations of juices that aid in healthy living. It's really amazing.
