I understand that everyone's experience is going to be different, but I felt that the wait staff was rude, the food was mediocre at best, and the general feeling of the place to be completely off putting. I have only been once, but my girlfriend has had a similar experience twice. So we have chosen to not give this place another chance.

This place is more of a bar than a restaurant - I would highly recommend it if you just want drinks, but the food was absolutely awful.

First of all our food took over 40 minutes to arrive, we eventually had to just ask them to pack it to go. My grilled cheese was soggy and dripping grease. I just plain didnt enjoy the soup, it tasted oily, but that may me because my mouth was greasy after eating the sandwich, which I couldn't even finish. Seriously I cringe thinking of this sandwich. French fries werent even good.

Three star review because the food was 1 star and the drinks were 5.

We were here last December (2014) twice in the same weekend.

On a weekend, we were brew hopping and got a recommendation to come here for lunch. They actually had a live bluegrass band playing. It was really fun and entertaining. We ended up have the extra large cheese platter with meats and drinks. The have a very fine selection of all kinds of cheeses.

By chance, our Tuesday night reservation got changes and we ended coming here with 6 people for dinner. most of us ended up having the Barramundi fish. It was excellent.

The staff were excellent on both occasions. The place has a really unique look. Reminds me of New Orleans inside.

Definitely will be back.

I ordered the pork belly and it was amazing, one of the finest dinners I've had this year. Perfectly cooked, with several wonderful sauces. Excellent flavor pairings. I'm gonna come here every time I'm in San Diego for years to come.

Also the drinks were pretty darn good. A bit weak, but very tasty.

"The cheddar biscuits are a must" at this "hip", "foodie" New American in North Park famed for its "comfort food with a twist" paired with "fun cocktails" and "local craft beers" in a "wonderful renovated building" with indoor and outdoor seating; moderate pricing, "friendly" service and a "fabulous Sunday brunch" with bluegrass top things off.
