Amazing food selction, and their fresh pasta is the best I've ever had. Good pizza too.

Best. Pizza. Oh and the baklava (sp?) is incredible too.

The pizza is good, not great. I like that's it's thin and the sauce on top is a nice change of pace — definitely the best pie to be had in the neighborhood, at least if you don't feel like driving up Macomb to Two Amy's.

They also have a nice array of frozen meals and various Italian goods like cookies, sauces, wine, etc. The sandwiches are not great — not nearly enough meat on them, and often they try and foist a pre-made sandwich on you instead of a fresh one.

That gets to my biggest beef with this place: the employees.

I wouldn't go so far as to say the two ladies that most often run the register are outright rude, but they are indifferent at best and contemptuous at worst. One is often made to feel that you are imposing on their idleness by asking them to move a few feet down the counter to get a slice. And like I said, making a fresh sandwich is apparently an undertaking, with the request met with a sigh and a slow shuffle down to the deli counter.

In fact, the first and only time I've ever seen the larger of the two ladies smile at me was the last time my wife and I went around 5 p.m. and asked if they could make a couple sandwiches for us. "Sorry," she said. "We're already out of bread."

At a restaurant? On a Friday evening? At least the fact that she didn't have to do any work prompted her to smile.

Grew up on this pizza. The key is the sauce on top of the cheese. It really lets the tomato sauce shine. Make sure to get it warmed up. The spinach pie is also delicious. People rave about the italian subs too.
You can also buy frozen pastas, sauces, cured meats, etc. A small place but a neighborhood favorite.
