Pretty good food and service but to much ambience for me, sort stiff and felt like if I did something different, I might have been looked downed on by the other guest. That's just the vibe I got very nice area and building although.

Great historic restaurant in the heart of the Wissahickon Valley Park where you can have a casual lunch after a hike or a romantic dinner in the evening. Also, it is a perfect place to book for a wedding or a special event.

My fiancé and I arrived at valley green at 2:20 on Nov 1st in line behind one couple. We were not acknowledged by the hostess for at least 20 minutes as we stood by the front desk and watched her be rude to customers and servers alike. Around 2:40 she said she would seat is shortly and disappeared to the back for a minute to return and tell us that her manager told her not to seat anyone else. She then accused us of lying by saying that she had only wasted 3 minutes of our time. We drove the half hour drive back home and I felt compelled to write my first ever review. Very unsatisfactory.

I had a bad first experience at the Valley Green Inn, but their customer service after the fact made up for it completely. My first experience was a Friday night celebratory dinner, when I had the catfish. A few hours later I came down with the most violent food poisoning imaginable. I called to warn them and never received a call back; which led me to originally write a poor review.

I was then contacted by the owner, who was extremely nice and apologetic. I have worked in the restaurant business and feel I can tell when someone is just saying what they need to say to satisfy a customer. I did not get this feeling at all from him, he was genuinely upset by the situation and disappointed by his restaurant's performance. He had even went back and found my check and also the invoices for the fish I ate. He was nice enough to offer me a generous gift card, mailed with a hand written apology note.

I went back with a few friends and had a great experience. We all enjoyed our food and nobody got sick (which was a relief)! After the genuine customer service and having a second chance, I would go back again. Thank you Valley Green Inn!
