Don't let the underwhelming appearance fool you - this place has some amazing food! I'm not a vegetarian nor did I think I liked tofu... but the dishes at this place are tasty and I even forgot it wasn't real meat. The lunch buffet is the best deal and always comes with a delicious soup. Try it out!

I love this place. The interior is lacking, but the service is fast and friendly. The Buddhist style cuisine is delicious.

I have been to many Vegan restaurants around Portland and none have made me come back time and time again like the Vegetarian house. Every time I come, I get greeted by amazing servers and satisfied by the best food I have ever eaten. The size of the menu means you can have something different every time you come, and it is great to go out with friends or family and everyone get something different so you can taste a little of everything. Everything from the soups to the orange "chicken" is spectacular. I love going to this restaurant and I want everyone to be able to enjoy it as well.

I liked it but the food is a bit odd.

So this place has a ton of "fake" meat that they use in very interesting dishes. For the most part it is great and the ones that are not great are at least interesting. I had never seen anyone try to do fake vegetarian shrimp before and it was an interesting dish. This food is not for everyone, and i'm not sure i could even say it tasted great. It was good but i think i liked it more for just being very different.

If you are interested in Vegetarian food or just want to try something totally new, give this place a try. If you are looking for a nice chinese meal, you might want to try somewhere else.

This was one of the worst meals I have had while in Portland. The atmosphere feels like a hospital cafe which didn't help, but the food was terrible. We ordered the veggie spring rolls, fried won-tons and the kung pao chicken. The spring rolls were tiny and tasteless, the fried won-ton were actually greasy won-ton wrappers completely lacking a filling and the kung pow chicken consisted of oily puffs of soy packing peanuts. The service was really good, but pointless if the food is such mess.
