Veranda Fireside Lounge, San Diego, California Restaurant Details

Food:

My fiancé and I thoroughly enjoyed the food and service at the Veranda. The wait staff was quick to respond to our needs and answered all our questions efficiently and gracefully. I'm a bit high maintenance so it was great to find such a wonderful place for lunch that met and exceeded my expectations. Thank you Veranda, we'll be back soon!

Food was very good and well presented. The service needs to improve. We had a reservation, but the hostess -- instead of getting us a table -- spent time telling us how busy the morning has been, etc. Waited 15 min. for someone to take our order, and finally had to flag down a waiter (none of whom were making eye-contact with us) to order our meal. Then had to ask for our check, and ask for them to process our payment. Not OK. Oddly, there was ample wait staff, and many open tables. This place needs better management. We'll give it one more try, but will not go back if the next experience mimics today's.

Good food, beer and wine. Service is somewhat sporadic but it makes it more fun.
