Fantastic Cuban food and pastry at the bakery next door, very affordable. Went there on a Thursday night around 7pm and no wait, wait staff quick and helpful. A must visit in Miami.

I came here once while entertaining my sister who's from out of town. It took 25 minutes to place our order, because there were like 30 people in line, with only 2 employees behind the counter and they were being all stupid. If they were making a sandwich or some coffee, they would sit at the machine staring at it while it made espresso or heated the sandwich for 45 seconds, instead of trying to multi-task. We asked to see the manager, who came out with a tray full of newly-prepared food, telling us that she's the only one there to prepare new baked items. That's nice, but a good manager should have a string of cooks lined up so that she can get her ass out to the front and help the staff during peak times. She seemed not to care that it took so long. Ultimately I had to cut my tour of Miami short so I could get my sister to the airport since they screwed around for so much time. I brought this to the attention of a manager inside the restaurant, and he explained the two are separate entities under the same ownership, but that he'd take my concerns to upper-level management because 25 minutes for a coffee and a pastelito is unreasonable.

I have no way to give this 2.5 stars, as the other times I've come to the bakery it's been quick and delicious. So I'm giving it 2 stars; hopefully ownership takes notice.
