I was REALLY disappointed in the service and food. I have been to the Venice location and was expecting the same service. The chicken in the empanadas I ordered was cold and the sauce had no flavor. The chicken my friend ordered was not well done. When he told the waiter about it, the waiter's response was "Oh, you wanted it well done." Um.. no sh8t.

This place is average and definitely over-hyped. I prefer Nando's from the East Coast, which is Peruvian but a lot better. I shared the garlic chicken and pork combination, which was a little overpriced and a little too oily. I found that the meats lacked flavor besides the garlic. The best part of the meal were the fried plantains. I also tried some of the sangria, thought it was pretty nasty. You know a place is not that good when I'd rather have El Pollo Loco.

Nothing, isn't what use to be.
The bite empanisado no taste whatever, my wife had the Pollo a la plancha and it was no taste to it also. Shame I used to love this place.

Pretty disappointed about this place.
Maybe I ordered the wrong dish? My friend and I ordered their sampler and most of the stuff on the plate were too heavy for us. I ordered the famous garlic chicken and I only had few bites because it was super dry. The chicken looked better than it tasted.

On a positive note: great service, yummy garlic bread, plantains were splendid and their arroz con leche were so good!

update: heard my friend and i got the bad chicken :(

I feel like the quality of this place has gotten down the past few years. The waiting time for seats during the weekend can be close to 45 minutes. The food wasn't as good as it used to be. I ordered the paella and some of the shrimp seemed undercooked so I had to send it back. The redeeming quality for the meal was the plantains that were still as delicious as I remember it.

"The garlic chicken is heaven" at this "high-energy" Cuban chain beloved by many for its "soul-satisfying" fare that "tastes like abuela's in the kitchen"; service is "welcoming" despite the "barren", "cafeteria-style" setting, and prices are a downright "bargain", so it "hits the spot" every time; P.S. "bring Tic Tacs!"
