Really good cheesesteak and potato salad, but kind of pricey. $10.67 with a water. Urban spoon menu pricing is wrong.

Whenever in doubt, Village Deli is my go-to lunch place. Their extensive menu is certain to please everyone. For those searching for gluten free, they are remarkably adept at making sure that almost everything on the menu has a gluten free version. Separate gluten-free fryer, fried fish and shrimp use rice flour, several bread options- it's very impressive. Yummy vegetarian options. Also, best tea in town.

SO GOOD. Went here after the NC museum and had the reuben. My fiance even loved the sandwich I got and he doesn't like reubens. It may be a little more expensive than your average sandwich, but it is not your average sandwich at all!

I've been visiting the Cameron Village location a couple times a month for about four years; and I'm not sure what location others are referring two when they say it's changed. This one has very infrequent staff turnover, a mostly constant menu, etc.

A clean yet warm cabin style deli, with wholesome and tasteful foods, and friendly service. Even the kitchen staff knew my name after just a few trips. It's exactly the right speed for casual morning and afternoon dining.

Also, if you are a health conscious diner with a type-a personality like me, you'll know what I mean when I say that everything you are eating is identifiable. Whether you get a salmon sandwich with mango chutney on ciabatta for lunch, or a turkey hash for breakfast, you'll still be able to easily identify all the whole foods that went into your meal.

Frankly, it's all just right at the price. Granted, I pay more attention to my food than its price, but how reviewers think a price comparison to McDonald's is relevant is beyond me. Crazy-talk.

My only complaint is their breakfast hours. They have a creative daily breakfast menu, but open late on Saturday (10:30am), don't serve breakfast on Sundays, and have a pretty firm breakfast cutoff time on weekdays.

I ordered the black and bleu burger. The service was friendly, but the food was sub-par. The burger was served on comically-large plates, which were filled halfway with crinkle cut fries and a sad-looking burger. The bun was straight out of the (no more than .99 cent) bag. The fries were OK, but you could tell they got them from the Food Lion next door and that there was no special prep to them.

The burger had no sauce, was only a miserly pinch of Gorgonzola, a cut tomato, and lettuce. Nothing else.

It cost just under 24$ for two of those underwhelming burgers and one fountain drink. I would not recommend this place.
