The good, the bad, and the ugly:
The good: I have lived here for 6 months and feel more safe than any place I've ever lived. There is excellent security for the garage and the building, lockout assistance, and 24/7 security personnel available. The residents around me are very quiet, no loud frat party-type music going on, probably due to the rule that you only get one noise complaint before getting the boot. The patios in every room are amazing and HUGE for an apartment. I'm talking like 1/2 of my bedroom size. The maintenance men are fantastic! They will fix anything and everything in a timely fashion. One resident's A/C recently broke down and they paid for her to stay at the crowne plaza since it was 90 degrees outside. The young crowd here is very friendly- most people say hello and introduce themselves and try to get to know their neighbors, excellent for people coming from out-of-town.
The bad: management. I was promised a granite countertop that I didn't get. My move in date was bumped back 2 1/2 months (due to new construction) and all they did to make up for that was give me free parking for a month. Rent and parking are ridiculously expensive- awesome location and good security are tough to find, but $50/day to live here?? C'mon people. Everybody splits the buildings gas/electric/water bills. By the looks of it, I think we're paying for the hallway/leasing office/garage/stairwell bills too, nothing is energy efficient. Also, the washer/dryer are cheap and my fire alarms were so sensitive they went off every time I cooked for the first 2 weeks.
The ugly: Overall, the apartments look very nice. But once you get up close you realize that those construction men were really in a hurry. Paint stains on cabinets, floors, and showers; chips, dents, caulking that a 3-year old could do better on. Basically a bunch of corners cut to save time and/or money.
overall I still would give the place 4 stars because I don't think theres a better place/location in town, but I won't be able to renew my lease because I'm hardly able to save any money living here.
