Wally's Chowder House, Seattle, Washington Restaurant Details

Food:

Love their Fish and Chips and their Chowder too. I am not much of a fan when it comes to Chowder but man oh man I love their chowder. They have all you can eat Fish and Chips or all you can it Prawns and Chips.

The parking lot for the restaurant is way to small for all the business they get so if you can take the bus or if you don't mind walking find some street parking and walk to the restaurant.

Food:

I'm a fish & chip snob. My dad, funny but also named Wally, made the very best beer batter fish & chips I've ever eaten. He always said the secret was really fresh fish. Wally's uses really fresh fish! Breading different than my dad's but holy God! The fish was amazing!!! No sauce needed.

This place is amazing... my wife doesn't eat seafood but she will enjoy a little bit of my halibut and chips, it's that amazing! The clam chowder is delicous, our 20month old loves it! This is the ultimate Pacific Northwest experience in fresh seafood, views and location... and they make an amazing burger for the non seafood lover! Great service, they always treat you like friends!

The owner (Wally) came to our table and chatted with us, learned our names, and said goodbye when we left. The place was packed (which was quite telling of the quality of the food) but it was worth the wait. It was the most mouth-watering seafood we had in the Seattle area. I would highly recommend eating here for quality, fresh seafood.

If you are visiting Des Moines, this place is a must! I LOVE their clam chowder, I'd suggest to eventually try everything on the menu.... Nevertheless, I travel a lot and this place has the best clam chowder! Amazing customer service, everyone is so friendly and kind!
