06/30/2015 8:52 amWaraji is, in my opinion, the best sushi restaurant in raleigh. Every time I go I've gotten big cuts of fish, and great service. The rolls on the menu are unique, and so good, its hard to just order one roll there. My favorite roll is the Mary Roll, and the Scary Jerry Roll. |

04/01/2015 5:55 pmI was there today for lunch, my waitress although friendly when she approached me, paid little attention. Came to my table only twice and one of them was to drop the bill. Maybe my expectations were to high based on the reviews I've read, but I disliked the food as well. I ordered mackerel and was so greassy, my mouth felt like I had swallowed oil. Yuck. I have been to Japan and even married a Japanese culinary chef, so I guess my expectations were just to high, but that does not make the service OK, she should have at least came to my table one more than once and not to drop off the check but to refill my drink or something. When she saw that I had not ate the fish, I explained to her why, she never offered to replace it or anything. Thank goodness I had ordered soup with it, otherwise I would have left hungry. I don't think I'll go back, I guess asking for something or anything to what they serve in Japan is just too much. |

02/23/2015 8:14 amMy husband and I had such a great date night this past Saturday at Waraji. The service was excellent, the sake and food was out of this world! This will be our go to place for us to get our sushi fix. Try the Guacamole and the Scary Jerry rolls. Thanks for a wonderful experience and perfect weekend treat. |

11/29/2014 4:50 pmThe food is very good but not worth the price. When I take my whole family, the server writes an 18% tip into the bill. I understand that's the common practice, but the problem is that the service sucks when they do that. They let us sit there unattended with empty drinks for long periods of time. I end up paying a $30 tip after receiving inadequate and rather unfriendly service. |
