I loved the fried okra, the fried chicken, the fried catfish, oh man the red beans and rice GOOD

Went by on recommendation of a friend. Had the Friied Chicken dinner with Mash potatos, potato salda, corn bread. The chicken and mash potatos were good. The Potato salad was ok, not enough flavor. Iced tea was good. Fast and friendly service. Quite a busy place. Next to the light rail station by 27th and Welton Street. A community institution.

This place is legit good soul food. Great food, great service, great place.While waiting for our food, we met Bre who worked there and told us all about how her family (8 siblings, parents, and other extended relatives!) have operated this restaurant for years and years. And our waitress Rhonda, who was so friendly, explained that the good food can take a little time to make so offered to take our number if we wanted to hit the brewery (Spangalang-another great review!) next door while we waited. We opted to stay at our table and enjoy the place. Now the food...omg the food! We had catfish, fried chicken, okra, red beans and rice, etc. ALL GOOD. I just moved to the neighborhood and this will for sure be a go to place.
