05/03/2015 8:09 pmConvenient to 42nd Street's Theater Row, this pre-curtain "standby" keeps its audience coming back with "satisfying" American chow served in "congenial" environs; the menu "may not be the most exciting", but the prices are "fair" and they get you "out on time" for your show. |

02/23/2015 11:31 amThe year is still young, but I will be hard-pressed to find anywhere that can serve me a dinner better than West Bank Cafe. It was the final eatery of my time on vacation in New York and what a final eatery it was. |

12/14/2014 12:56 pmA very quaint nicely decorated restaurant on West 42 street, just pass ninth avenue. I ordered the mini mushroom risotto balls. It was served with a truffle aoli sauce. I did not like the sauce. I also ordered the fried calamari with a chipolte sauce. The sauce was very tasty, not spicy. The fried calamari melted in my mouth. It was cooked to perfection. For a main course, I ordered the crab cake. There was very little filling, mostly flaky crab. It came with two large slices of avocado, and well seasoned greens. There was only one crab cake. The waiter convinced me to order dessert. I ordered the frozen lemon mousse, which came topped with cinnamon meringue, assorted fresh berries, and candied pistachios. It was delicious. The wait service was excellent. The restaurant was busy but I did not have to wait on line for a table. They have a full bar service, with some interesting beers and wine. The prices were reasonable. They also have a prefixed lunch and dinner menu. I arrived too late for that. I would go back. The soup of the day was tomato Florentine with shave Parmesan cheese. Yummy |

10/01/2014 2:14 amPretty good pre-fixe lunch special. $20 three course menu. I ordered the steak frites which was very good, the fries were awesome and the steak was cooked a perfect medium rare. I also ordered the caeser salad and bread pudding. Very nice almost 5 star-eque setting as well. Great place to stop by for lunch or before hitting a show. |

10/11/2013 1:15 pmI have been going here since the 80s with my family. The owners are amazing. The food, always good for post theatre or Thanksgiving, or any time, is wonderful. Check it out and say hi to Steve! |

07/12/2013 8:04 pmLively Theatre Row restaurant with above average food. It's been around for many years, and has consistently good American food. There's always a lovely arrangement of flowers at the front. Can be noisy. Good for spotting celebrities. |
