12/26/2015 3:58 amAll those premade foods in the self-serve area certainly look good, but I've never had one that actually tasted good. Same is true of their cakes. As for produce, I can find locally grown, organic produce at Hannafords (as well as gluten free foods, if I desire), so I can't see paying a higher price for the same thing at WFM. Otherwise, all the choices are as overwhelming as at Hannafords, so I have decided to stick with Hannafords. Parking is as difficult as at Trader Joes, but TJs is a lot more fun--less stuck up, more helpful. |

12/24/2015 12:10 amWhole Foods in Portland is a weekly stop and shop for those items you just can't find anywhere else, and some of their 365 organic products are competitively priced. It is unfortunate however they seem to staff people based on their "diversity value" over their ability to actually provide good customer service. The cashiers are quite possibly the most bored employees in the entire store, acting as if someone forced them to do this job against their free will. Compare this to Trader Joes across the way, and you have friendly, down-to-earth employees, who give eye contact and genuinely seem to like their jobs. I am finding more and more products at Trader Joes to replace those on my WFM list, and the atmosphere at TJ's has really given WFM a healthy run for their money. You've got to love free enterprise! |

12/21/2015 11:40 pmWhen you need to buy organic, healthy food this store is great. Yes, it's pricey. But it is also big, well organized and a place to shop for food to take home, and delicious cooked food to eat right in the store. Portland is lucky to have this store. |

12/19/2015 2:59 pmI travel an hour and a half to come to Whole Foods. When I moved here from a major city, I didn't realize the everyday routines I would miss. I miss the ability to go to a quality grocer within walking distance from my home. Sure, there is a Hannaford's and Shaw's near me, but, when I look at their meat, it scares me and when I purchase the fruit and vegetables they rot within a really short period of time. I shopped at Whole Foods a full week before Thanksgiving, the fruit, vegetables and herbs stayed fresh until I started cooking the day before. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and helpful. It is a weekly pilgrimage for myself. Thank you, Portland, Whole Foods. |

12/19/2015 4:21 amThere are so many choices that this store can be hard to navigate. They also have an entire section of buffet-like food where you can grab a healthy lunch or dinner. |
