01/20/2016 11:17 pmI eat at Wilfs every week. One of my favorite places. Their salads are the best anywhere along with all their other choices. If you're looking for great food and service with a Classic Portland atmosphere, this is the place for you! |

08/21/2015 7:34 pmI took my father to wilf's as the part of his 80th birthday present. The train ride from Seattle was over an hour late, so we missed lunch hour menu, which wasn't a huge deal for my dad.We stood for a very long time waiting for anyone to appear to seat us; though there were only a few people in the restaurant, there wasn't single server, host, or barkeep in sight. When the hostess finally appeared from a door behind the reservation desk, she walked past us as if we didn't exist. She told us that we could sit anywhere in the restaurant - except in over by the windows. The hostess was borderline hostile when I asked, as it was my fathers 80th (we had made reservations for lunch and I had sent a note telling them it was his birthday) if we could sit by the window so my dad could watch the trains pass - she hesitated and then took us over to the only table that had not been set - not even a tablecloth (the others were all set with white tablecloths) and did so in a rude and overtly hostile manner. |

03/27/2015 8:16 pmI have now known both Adele and Candice for years now and they have helped me with personal and company dinners over the years, and our experience has always been fantastic. There is not a place in town I would rather visit for great jazz and wonderful food, and I am looking forward to my next experience with them soon. |

02/17/2015 9:06 pmThis was one of the worst experience I have ever had. Made reservations 10 days before Valentine Day. Got a call mid week to confirm our reservations, which I did. Arrived 15 minutes early for our reservations, and was seated at a small table with folding chairs. About the size of a card table. We were put in the aisle, and looking around there were a lot of open tables with nice chairs and not in the walk area. When we walked in we saw a sign on the desk that they were charging a $12.00 per person cover charge for the band. When the waiter came to our table we asked if since we were having dinner was there still a cover charge, of course he said yes. We also asked why the small table in aisle and his reply was well it is Valentine's Day. We were never told about the cover charge when I made the reservation, or when I called back to confirm the reservations. I felt like they gave very poor service and did not care about trying to please us, or anyone else. Also noted that the prices on the menu where higher because it was Valentine's Day, which should have cover any additional expenses they may have had. We left without eating, and had to try and make the best of our evening. I plan to tell everyone and have no intentions of very going back. It ruin my Valentine's Day Night! |

02/17/2015 6:46 pmLast July we had a company farewell dinner for a coworker who was retiring after 40 years of working for the company. The entire staff and environment was extremely welcoming, and John, the Maitre d', was a fantastic host. If you go, make sure someone at the table orders a Steak Diane, or a Caesar salad, as Michael will give you a great table side cooking display of these items, as well as a little fun history of the food. All in all, I know our coworker had a great evening celebrating his retirement party at such a wonderful place and I look forward to going there for my next special night out. |
