01/24/2016 9:06 pmWinstead's is a Kansas City institution. Everything has been exactly the same since I can remember and I've been going for a lot longer than i care to remember. I still think they have the best onion rings in the city. |

01/21/2016 7:53 pmThe drive-thru experience was good, quick and simple. I tried a Winstead Double with cheese and fries. My burger was great and was cooked to perfection and the fries were actually fresh! The drive-thru associate was very stern and punctual; the associate didn't seem very spry. |

12/21/2015 1:29 amWhat did you like about it? This is the first question that google asks me when writing a review. My answer to that question is nothing. Nothing at all. My two year old could've made a better cheese burger. At the end of our meal our waitress asked us if everything was alright. I told her that the shake tasted very strange. She replied with, "Oh, did it taste like gasoline?" Just very casually like it was a question she asks everyday. If you think your shakes taste like GASOLINE then why would you serve them to anybody? I expected her to take the milkshake off of my bill since it was so horrible and she knew it was horrible, but she did not. I would not recommend this place to anybody and I will never go back. |

05/04/2015 7:31 pmSo let me preface this with the fact that I've grown up eating at Winsteads... Most of my life I've lived in kc and the surrounding areas. I have always gotten amazing greasy burgers, hot delicious onion rings and of course a chocolate malt. But it's been a while since I've gone to any locations, particularly the Barry road one, since my last move. My mom and I decided that since neither of us had had it recently that it sounded great for lunch today. So I run through the drive thru where I'm helped (if that's what you want to call it) by a very uninterested employee lacking the social skills necessary to work a drive thru window. She rushed me through my order with no thank you, have a nice day, or even so much as a half assed smile. So when I get home with the food I'm super excited for the amazingness that awaits, only to find that they have changed their buns to some kind of inflated cardboard. It ruined the whole freaking burger. We just paid $20 for two burgers, a side of onion rings, and two med malts, and the main course tasted worse than cold McDonald's. Luckily the onion rings and malts were edible. Quite frankly I wouldn't waste your money or your time where you get crap service and nasty burgers. Won't be going back and wouldn't recommend to my worst enemy. |
