01/01/2014 4:11 pmOne of the worst dining experiences ever. Terrible services, and the duck I ordered was so undercooked I think it quacked when I cut into it. Luckily it was taken off the bill (no pun intended). I will not return to Wokano. |

06/18/2012 12:45 amMost of the food is good there, although they have many bad cooks. My daughter, found a bug in her dish, in which i thought it was a cockroach, cockroaches holds over 23 deadly diseases! They did not brought us a new dish and we stilled HAD to pay Full price which is totally unfair. Besides that, everything was nice, the food again, I don't ever think I'm going to order that dish again, I hope you take my advice and watch your food for any bugs in it. |

12/10/2010 9:42 pmWokano was a great restaurant but something bad has happened. I was there last year and it was wonderful. Pan fried dumplings were delicate and the entrees were flavorful. Today, I got dumplings that were doughy and of the quality of those corner "Chinese" food stores where you order your meal for take away only from behind bullet proof glass. The entrees were even worse. I ordered Hunan beef and what I received was overly sweet with no other flavor. Hunan should be more sour than sweet, and even the heat was tepid. The sauce was gelatinous and the vegetables were quite overcooked. Sauteed watercress was watery, tasteless and even the large chunks of garlic had no flavor. I spent $25.00 for a meal that I could have gotten for 10 bucks from one of the aforesaid corner stores. Staff was very pleasant, but the food was terrible. I recall a review from a weekly alternative paper stating that there are two menus at Wokano, one for Asians and one for Americans. I didn't want to believe it, but I think I was profiled, which is a shame because the restaurant is only a block away. :-( |
