01/01/2015 11:17 amMy friend and I went there during the 2nd week of December 2014 as we were visiting Hawaii. She's a big Wolfgang Puck admirer and really wanted to try this restaurant. We went there for dinner but then heard of the happy hour so we decided to try that instead. Their policy is that the Happy hour is only at the bar (like many other restaurants in Hawaii) and can seat roughly 20 people however this restaurant is an open concept. It was frustrating to see all those available tables while we were waiting around. Furthermore, the staff behaviour was quite disrespectful as they happily chitchatted and totally ignored us without offering a chair or even a drink or anything. We finally left without eating anything. |

09/13/2013 3:52 amThe whole "happy hour" set up sucks. Have to wait in a line to get a shot at a seat at the bar in order to get bar menu prices (which you can't get sitting at a table). With a bar that seats 20 and a line of 15, figure the odds. Plus, the wait staff has attitude issues - which is probably as a result of dealing with a growing line of frustrated patrons. Recommendation - get there at 11 AM, you may eventually get a seat . . . . |

07/27/2013 2:09 amWhat a disappointment. It took 10 minutes to be acknowledged after having been seated, another 10 minutes to place an order after several hit and run "I'm sorry your server will be write with you" apologies. One of our party`s appetizers was never delivered at all. Good food but AWFUL service |

06/27/2013 8:00 pmDiffident and perfunctory service. We ordered two steaks, both medium fillet mignon, and they came out like chalk and cheese - one overcooked, one medium with a touch of rare. Disappointing for a steakhouse, and unfortunately we handle steak better at home. For the prices asked, the lack of options (sauces etc), a virtually unadorned plate officiously plopped down in fornt of you - the worst meal we have had in Honolulu. |

12/26/2012 3:58 amCalled on Christmas AM for a reservation. When I arrived for dinner, there was a mix up with the reservation (couldn't find it). I asked to speak to the manager who promptly had us seated. The wine menu was terrific. The server was extremely knowledgable and attentive. The steak was one of my top 5 of all time. The place reminded me of Peter Lugar's in NYC but with nicer ambiance. The bacon appetizer is amazing, the caesar salad was fresh. The ribeye was phenomenal! Thank you bringing our Christmas to a perfect ending. This place makes BLT Steak look like a Sizzler!! |

08/08/2015 2:42 pmAfter serving as a "head waiter at Peter Luger's", owner Wolfgang Zwiener opened "classy" beefhouses in NYC, Beverly Hills and, yes, Waikiki's Royal Hawaiian Center, offering a "whopping large porterhouse" and other "pricey" dry-aged steaks with "myriad sides" such as "thick and juicy slabs of bacon"; the "open-air room" allows you to "see the palm trees yet be above the bustle", service is "excellent" and there are "happy-hour bargains" to boot. |
